Eligibility of membership
Membership of the Society shall be open to all categories of medical professionals who are adult and citizens of Bangladesh with a sound mind and should undertake to abide by these presents and shall pay into the funds of the Society such subscription and fees as may be provided hereinafter
Categories of Membership
The Society shall have four categories of membership, namely:
1. General Member
Any registered postgraduate gynecologist who is practicing colposcopy at least for six months, any MBBS doctor who is completely involved in colposcopy and management of precancerous condition of the cervix for at least 3 years and have certificate as colposcopist and fulfils the requirements stipulated under ” The eligibility of membership” above, “Enrolment of membership” below and “Subscription for members” below, shall be entitled to become a member of the General Body of the Society.
2. Associate Members
Any registered nurse who is practicing colposcopy at least for six months. He or she may become an associate member of the Society and enjoy all f9cilities and rights as members of the General Body except the right to vote.
3. Life Members
Any ordinary member who is eligible for membership of the Society may be enrolled as a life member on payment of a lump-sum subscription of TK 10,000/ (Taka Ten Thousand) only, or as determined by the Executive Committee from time to time. All life members shall enjoy the same facilities and rights as members of the general body including the right to vote.
4. Honorary Patrons
The Executive Committee may elect Honorary Patrons from amongst persons who shall have made outstanding contributions to the cause of the Society. All Honorary Patrons of the Society shall enjoy the same facilitie·s and rights as members of the General Body except the right to vote.
Application for membership
Every applicant should apply for membership of the Society .in writing, the application being duly proposed and seconded by two members of the society, except in cases of the founding members. The applicant should submit all relevant documents as well as one year’s subscription at the time of filing the application form. The Membership Committee, on whose recommendation the Membership shall be granted, shall then consider the application.
Admission to membership shall be governed by the laws in existence and in accordance with the changes made in the general meeting from time to time.
Subscription for members
The subscription will be paid at the current rate .which is as follows but the rate may be changed from time to time on the basis of the recommendations from the general body:
- Life Membership: Tk. 10,000.00
- General Membership: Tk. 1000.00 per year
- Associate Membership Tk. 1000 or 500 per year
